With Eric getting home on the 23rd, the whole week was just kind of an uproar. we were busy scurrying around making food for his open house, cleaning, decorating and then it was Christmas. kind of Crazy. On Christmas eve everything was going as planned until around 3:00 we got a call that my grandpa was having chest pains and an ambulance came to pick him up. So we quickly shifted gears and went to the hospital. We arrived and he had been checked into emergency. (note when in the emergency room it is best to keep to yourself do not look around you will see many unpleasant things, if someone is holding a bucket NEVER look in!) They gave him a medicines that took away the pains and were running tests. we waited forever to find out what the doctors thought. by 7 we still had not heard too much but they were admitting him. It turns out that his lower chambers of his heart were having some problem but this artery's looked clear and to run many more tests might be more harmful to his body and what it can handle. My grandpa is in great shape but he will be 93 this April. He stayed over night and spent Christmas in the hospital. That night of Christmas eve we traditionally always go over to my Grandma Ora's house and celebrate with that side of the family , but by the time we got home that was over, I wish we could have visited there with them too, but we needed to be at the hospital.
We moved Christmas to their house and took care of everything so Grandma wouldn't have to and we were much closer to the hospital. After dinner we went and visited again and took his presents there. he was in great spirits and hopefully has very warm feet now because he received so many pairs of socks!!!! it was quite humorous when he opened his third package of them.
Grandpa Forrest was released the next day and sent home with new medication and hopefully is taking it easy at home.
During all of that drama my Grandmas brother passed away on Christmas eve. he was very sick and had emphysema for years and could not breathe on his own. It was a hard day especially on my poor grandma. I am glad we were all able to be there and help support her the best way we could.
